Are there any signs I should look out for?
Parents must remember that not all children are the same, and if unsure your 4 years old child is making progress, ask for advice should you repeatedly observe the following:
- Cannot jump in one place
- Finds scribbling challenging
- Shows no interest in interactive games
- Ignores other children
- Does not respond to people outside the family
- Resists dressing, sleeping and using the toilet
- Cannot retell a favourite story
- Does not follow three steps command: pick up your toys and books, and put them back, please!
- Does not understand same-different (these are apples, one is green, and the other one is red)
- Does not use “me” and “you” correctly
- Speaks unclearly
- Loss of skills once had
