Gaining increased movement control

Children at age four have greater control of big and small muscles. They can now run and jump and actively take part in games with others. You may have noticed the level of activities of your child is higher than before, and they wish to be playing at all times. They move around easily and can run, hop and jump.

They can take part in activities using coordination of big and small muscles. Hops and stands on one foot for up to 2 seconds; catches a bounced ball most of the time; pours drinks, cuts food with supervision and mash own food; uses scissors to cut paper.
